Thornley Kelham

AV PR managed the PR campaign to promote media coverage of the 1934 Lancia Astura ‘Steady Special’, which underwent some of its comprehensive restoration in Thornley Kelham’s workshops. Once belonging to Autocar road tester and star columnist ‘Steady’ Barker, the Lancia was unveiled at Autosport International 2014 in its chassis form.

Having lived a romantic life of varied fortunes, much like Steady himself, the car was delivered to specialist restorer Thornley Kelham’s premises in Gloucestershire in 2012. They were chosen by the Lancia’s current owner, classic car enthusiast and Guild of International Engineering Specialists founder Michael Scott.

AV PR secured national coverage of both the specialist and the car in prestigious magazines and specialist publications, including Octane. The article in Octane, specifically, also talks about The International Guild of Specialist Engineers (of which TK was a Member at the time) and 3D Engineers, whose preliminary work made the project viable.
